David Gene Reda, age 63, of Ojibwa, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Aspirus Medford Hospital in Medford, WI. He was born on December 30, 1960 in Marshfield, WI, the son of Frank and Arlene Reda.
David was a graduate of Shawano High School continuing his education at the University of Wisconsin Stout finishing with a master’s degree in psychology. He served for 30 years as the Psychologist for the Nye County School District in Nevada. David was a kind and generous man always willing to put family and others before himself. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling to other countries, backpacking and camping. David spent as much time outdoors as possible. He loved gardening, landscaping, forest mulching and anything related to forestry. He also knew how to relax and enjoyed fishing and ATVing. Most of all, David was a man of faith and a devoted father.
He is survived by his son, David Anthony Reda of Ojibwa; his life partner, Maria Vazquez-Reda of Stephenville, TX; his sister, Amy Reda of Shawano, WI; and his aunt, Dolores Dygart of Winter, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5106 N Main Street in Winter, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 A.M. Father Sunil Kumar Thumma celebrant. Interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 29th in St. Peter Cemetery in Winter.
