Claudette Carol Harrington, 85 of Shell Lake, walked home with Jesus on Monday, February 16, 2026, while her family was at her side. Claudette was born in Elgin, Illinois on October 4, 1940, to Lawrence and Doris Lauck where she grew up with 3 other sisters and later attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Claudette earned a bachelor's degree in education.
Claudette went on teaching in Bensenville, Illinois.
Later in life, Claudette followed her parents to the Dunn Lake area in Spooner, and eventually met her husband, John D. Harrington.
On August 16th, 1969, John and Claudette were united in marriage in Shell Lake.
John and Claudette remained in Shell Lake and raised 3 children together on the family farm.
Claudette was an elementary teacher in the Sarona School and later substituted in the Spooner and Shell Lake School Districts.
Claudette was devoted to her husband John and enjoyed spending her time gardening, taking care of the farm, raising her boys, and spending time with her grandchildren. Claudette was very active in the community contributing her time with the 4H program and town treasurer.
Claudette was a true patriot in keeping truth to the area's politics and was a staunch defender of property rights and liberties of the people that have a lasting impact today.
Claudette accepted Jesus as her savior and was a member of The Northwoods Baptist Church where she shared her faith with her husband, and other family members.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Karen Wylie, and Barbara (Robert)Hecht.
She is survived by her husband John, of 56 years. Sons, Dan Harrington, Jack Harrington, Brendan (Alana) Harrington, all of Shell Lake. Sister, Joyce (Roger)Fitzgerald of Edina, MN. Seven Grandchildren: Cecilia (Connor) Orf, John, Chad, Joe, Hunter, Annabelle, and Kierra. Great grandchildren Ryan and Harrington "Harris" Orf. Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Special lifelong friend, Vera (Jerry Brazeau) of Frisco, Tx.
