Clara “Ann” Hartnett

Clara “Ann” Hartnett, age 88, of Hayward, WI passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Clara Ann was born May 4, 1937, in Barron County, WI the daughter of Boyd and Myrtle (Germanson) Jacobson.  She was raised in Barron and attended school there.  Ann married Art Jones in 1953, and the couple settled in Rice Lake, WI where they were blessed with three children.  Ann worked in Rice Lake for several local businesses including Leroy’s Bakery.  Ann married John Williams in 1976, and they continued to operate Williams Auction Service together for several years.  While living in Rice Lake, Ann was an avid bowler who bowled in several leagues.  On August 16, 1993, Ann married Roger Hartnett and the marriage was later blessed at the St. Francis Solanus Mission in Stone Lake, WI.  Ann and Roger lived in Hayward, WI and Ann owned and operated Ann’s Forget Me Not’s antique shop in Siren, WI and worked at The Red Shed Antiques and Prock’s Crocks and Antiques.  Ann enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sports, going fishing for walleye and northern, playing the machines at the casino and watching the birds out her lakeside patio door. 

Ann is survived by her three children, Julie (David) Johnson of South Ogden, UT, Shirley Olson, Jim (Laurie) Jones, both of Rice Lake, WI; stepchildren, Pam Weber of Green Lake, WI, Kathy (Bob) Wojciechowski of New Port News, VA, Debbie Williams of Homosassa, FL, Greg (Martha) Hartnett of Virginia, MN, Roger (Joy) Hartnett Jr. of Arizona, Tim (Kasie) Hartnett of Nashville, TN, Holly (Brian) Duffy of Hayward, Bridget (Laura) Hartnett of New Richmond, WI; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Timm of Rice Lake, WI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vern and Butch Jacobson; one sister, Carol Stoll.

A private burial at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward is planned for Ann.
