Betty Jorgenson

Betty Jorgenson, age 91, of Spooner, WI, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake, WI.

Betty was born on May 15, 1933, in Superior, WI to parents Gerold and Lillian Lyons. Betty and her family moved to the Milwaukee area and while there she met Gordy Norman. Betty and Gordy were married for 29 years before his passing. Through her life Betty moved to many areas and finally landing in Spooner in 1991 to be near family.

Betty was a crafty woman and dedicated her free time to making silk floral arrangements for herself, her loved ones, and weddings. She enjoyed animals of all kinds and spent many nights watching WWE. Most of all she loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Betty is survived by her significant other, Gary (Tex) Slate; daughters, Linda (Mike) Lawrence Daniels and Cyndi (Kenneth) Cogan; grandchildren, Brian Lawrence, Kevin Lawrence, Tara Lawrence, and Ryan Jones; great grandchildren, Tré, Payton, Sierra, Gaven, Triston, Landon, Braedon, and Colton; son-in-law, Robert Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; 3 brothers; sister; grandson, Keith; granddaughter, Jacquelyn; and son-in-law, Terry Lawrence.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Spooner Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 PM. A time of sharing will follow at 6:00 PM.
