Barry Frederick Leikam, aged 60, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at his residence in Spooner, WI. He was born on February 2, 1966, in Illinois, the son of Thomas and Patricia (West) Leikam. He was united in marriage to Tammy (Berthiaume) Leikam.
He is survived by his children, Kelsey (Nathan Stoltz) Leikam of Stevens Point, WI and Lucas Leikam of Spooner, WI; his grandchildren, Allen Stoltz and Berkley Leikam; his sisters, Kelly Hartmann of Lake Zurich, IL, Erin (Bruce) Murphy of McHenry, IL and Katie (Brian) Peterson of Chicago, IL; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tammy Leikam; his brother, Brian Leikam; and his sister, Tracy Gerambio.
He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. From a young age, he loved anything with a motor — riding back roads, tinkering in the garage, and bringing small engines and boat motors back to life with his hands and his patience. He spent many peaceful hours fishing, appreciating the quiet and the water, and he took pride in a hard day’s work in construction, where his strength, skill, and work ethic spoke for themselves.
Even more than his hobbies, he cherished time spent around the fire, sharing stories, laughter, and conversation with family and friends. Those gatherings — filled with warmth, humor, and the people he loved most — were where he was truly happiest.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his mechanical know-how, his love of the outdoors, and the way he made everyone feel welcome beside him. His legacy lives on in the memories made, the lessons he taught, and the countless engines he brought back to life — each one a reflection of his own hardworking and generous spirit.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
