It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father/husband August Jerome Phillips, who left us on October 19, 2024, at the age of 84. At his core, AJ (Jerry) was a kind and compassionate man who lived fully and never sat still or wasted a moment. He always enjoyed being in the thick of the action and immersed himself with family and friends. He believed in working hard, playing even harder, and enjoying every moment of life. He worked at Everbrite Corp. for most of his career, and worked independently for another 20+ years installing scoreboards to keep himself busy and active. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 through 1962. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to fish, hunt and spend time at his cabin on Little Bass Lake near Spooner, WI. He passed away peacefully after an illness with family by his side. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, and will live on by all those touched by his spirit.
He is survived by his spouse, Gail; three children and their partners, Greg and Cathy Phillips, Mindy and Lee Harvard, Brady Phillips and Matthew Hoffman; and four grandchildren, Leah and Rachel Harvard, and Hunter and Austin Phillips. Per Jerry’s wishes, in lieu of a memorial service, the family will gather at their cabin to celebrate his life.
