Allie Ray Kronberg, age 82, of Barnes, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully after a long and hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma and related issues on Monday, April 14, 2025 with her family at her side in Excelsior, MN.
Allie was born May 8, 1942, in Dwarf, Kentucky, the daughter of Mason and Nora (Lovins) Miller. She was united in marriage to Donald Ervin Kronberg on April 6, 1963, in Washington, D.C.
Allie proudly served her country in the United States Army as a member of the Women’s Army Corps. She was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon where she handled mostly classified situations and was also involved with the Army Map Service. She met her husband, Donald, while he was on duty guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Following her active duty, Allie focused on raising a family while continuing her service in the Army Reserves for 28 years. She also enjoyed a successful career with NordicTrack, starting as a sales agent and later advancing into management roles.
She and Donald were active lifetime members of the Disabled American Veterans in Kentucky and the American Legion in Minnesota. Allie was a lifelong avid reader, talented writer and had a passion for painting and ceramics. Her biggest passion and pride was for her family and beloved pets.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Donald Kronberg of Barnes, WI; her children, Cathy Gumbiner of Chanhassen, MN, and Dennis Kronberg of Excelsior, MN; her grandchildren, Keaton Kronberg, Austin (Shelby) Gumbiner, and Mason (Meg) Gumbiner; and great-granddaughter, Elora. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Lloyd Miller and sister-in-law, Leila Miller, both of Dwarf, KY, along with many other dear family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Allie was preceded in death by her siblings: Virgil Miller, Phyllis Jones, Kathleen Miller, and Arthur Miller.
A memorial service will be held at the Solon Springs Funeral home at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 3rd. Visitation will start an hour prior to the service, 11:00 A.M. A private interment will follow at the Barnes Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
