Alan Korthof

Alan Korthof, age 93, of Springbrook, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Meadowbrook in Chetek, WI.  He was born on July 27, 1928, in Stone Lake, WI, the son of Gerrit Sr. and Bertha (Hesseling) Korthof. 

He was the seventh of ten children and attended the Mackey Valley School in Springbrook.  Alan proudly served his country with the United States Army in Alaska and was a lifelong member of the Springbrook VFW Post 10568.  He worked as a rodman and journeyman with the Ironworker’s Local 512.  Alan enjoyed working on his tractor, gardening, and spending time with his family.  He loved traveling and spent many trips with family out west visiting national parks.  

He is survived by his son, Zane Korthof of Springbrook; his grandchildren, Whitney Korthof of Springbrook, Briana Korthof of Spooner, and Jeremiah Korthof of Seaside, OR; and his great-granddaughter, Monroe Olsen.

In addition to his parents, Alan is preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Hodd, Norma Luecht, and Nellie Korthof; and his brothers, Jack Korthof, Donald Korthof, Stanley Korthof, Gerrit Korthof Jr., Jimmy Korthof, and Robert Korthof.

A celebration of life will be held starting at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Springbrook VFW.
