James Barrett Obituary

 

James W. Barrett, age 79, of Minong passed away March 5, 2019. Jim was born to Domnic and Grace Barrett, at their home in Trego.  At the age of 17 Jim enlisted in the United State Navy. After serving our country he was honorably discharged and returned to his home in Washburn County. There he met and married his sweetheart Darlene Wilcox.  They would spend their lives together for over fifty years.  Darlene preceded him in death in 2012. 

Jim is survived by three daughters:  Deb (Ken) Moore, Eau Claire; Denise (Jeff) Sando; Darla Barrett, Spooner. Grandchildren:  Whitney and Kendra (Brian) Moore; Dana (Ayanna), Jace and Jesi Sando; McKayla and Kali Waggoner, and Jameson Lucas. Great Grandchildren:  Mahrya Moore; Braeden, Aaron, Braelynn Sando.  Brother: Francis and Darlene Barrett.  Many nieces, nephews and family.

Jim is preceded in death by Brothers: Donald and Byron (Danny); Sisters: Marian and Georgina and twin infant brothers. His parents Domnic and Grace Barrett.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Spooner Funeral Home in Spooner, Wisconsin.  Interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kevin, Lee and Wayne Barrett, Dana and Jace Sando, Jameson Lucas, Paul Hartwig.
