Delores Mae Brown

Delores Mae “Tootsie” Brown, age 88, of Hawthorne, WI passed away suddenly on Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born on July 5, 1930 in Superior, WI the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Magnuson) Castonguay.  She was united in marriage to Ira Brown on December 28, 1948.

Delores lived her whole life in Hawthorne.  She adored sewing and knitting and greatly enjoyed her Wednesday quilt group.  She was a kind, loving and gentle woman who loved to laugh and hug.  She was a proud homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.  She lived to spoil her grandchildren.  She was an excellent baker and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially around the holidays.

She is survived by her five children, Charlie (Jan) Brown, Richard Brown, Robert Brown, Peggy (Mark) Pollock and Julie DeMarte; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Delores is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ira; her sister, Ann Rossi; her brother, Eugene Castronguay; and her son-in-law, Gary DeMarte.
