Albert Dullinger Obituary

Albert “Al” Dullinger, age 80, a lifelong resident of Trego, died at his home on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Al was born on February 2, 1939, at the family’s home in Trego to parents Nicholas and Marie (Steinemann) Dullinger.  He attended the Trego Elementary School and then transferred to the Spooner High School, graduating in the Class of 1957.  After high school, he worked various jobs, including with his father at the Standard Oil gas station in Trego, before being drafted into the US Army in 1962.  He would honorably be discharged in 1964, and then served another two years in the Air National Guard out of Duluth.  Al went back to work for his father in Trego and also plowed snow for the Town of Trego before starting a career with the DNR that would last more than 30 years, retiring in 2000.  On November 13, 1967, he was united in marriage to his first wife Harriet Skrupky.  After her untimely death in 1973, he was later united in marriage to Rosaleen Bauer in Shell Lake on September 11, 1976.  Al enjoyed playing Church Softball, snowmobile radar runs and races, hunting, and fishing, and he will be remembered as a great storyteller.

Al is survived by his wife Rose of Trego, two children: Tanya (Raymond) Riehle of Wausau, WI, and Erik (Dayna) Dullinger of Hayward, WI, five grandchildren: Lucas, Katherine, Gabriella, Susanna, and Jacob, brother Lawrence Dullinger of Trego, WI, and sister Adelle Koel of Spooner, WI.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, wife Harriet, and infant sister Marie.
